Michael Brown
Michael is a filmmaker and adventurer.He has reached the summit of Mount Everest three times from routes in Nepal and Tibet. He has received five National Emmy Award nominations for film work and won three. Michael’s films have also won twenty-six international film festival awards. The summit of Everest is nice on a climbing resume but, for a filmmaker, exploration of the unknown in the wildest and most difficult to reach parts of the world hold the most meaning.

Lucy Creamer
Lucy Creamer has been climbing for 15 years and has racked up an impressive array of ascents. She was the British Difficulty Champion in 1997/98, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005, British Bouldering champion in 2001 and British Masters champion in 1998. Lucy is regularly featured on the television, radio and in regional and national newspapers.

Christine Kopp
Christine began her career as a freelance translator, journalist and editor. She specialises in mountaineering and tourism issues and has translated 9 books from Italian and French. Since 1994 she has been responsible for the mountaineering pages of the well-known Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Christine loves travel, climbing and ski mountaineering.

Pierre Simoni
Pierre was a producer for the Swiss Romand TV channel in Geneva, where he directed several programmes. Amongst his numerous achievements, Pierre has been President and Artistic Director of the International Alpine Film Festival of ‘Les Diablerets’. He has also been a member of the Swiss Alpine Club and in 2000 participated in the creation of the AIFM - International Mountain Film Alliance.

Julie Summers
Julie stared writing biographical pieces whilst working at the Henry Moore Foundation. Julie’s great uncle, Sandy Irvine climbed Everest in 1924 with George Mallory and disappeared somewhere above 8,000m never to be seen again. She began to research his life and after Mallory’s body was discovered on the mountain in 1999, decided to write Irvine’s biography. Fearless on Everest: The Quest for Sandy Irvine was published in 2000. Her second book was a pictorial anthology of the life of Sir Ernest Shackleton. Entitled The Shackleton Voyages it was published in November 2002. Film Competition Festival Judges
